Your previous questions regarding this product
Hi. I recently purchased GL.002.352 to convert 12v dc to 5v dc to use the onboard USB port to power up a tp link nano travel router. When I use it to power up the router, the router boots up for a few seconds and then shuts down. I was wondering would the GL.003.641 unit be a better unit to use for this purpose instead?

Hi Danny,

it looks like the converter you bought may be not powerful enough to power your router.

The GL.003.641 is twice that powerful (5A instead of 2.5A) but to be sure, you would need to check the rated power consumption of the router and add min. 20 per cent of reserve. For ex., if the device requires 4A, the converter you need must provide with min. 5A. Also mind that these converters, when operate close to their maximum power, require good cooling - must have proper ventilation provided and even require a heat sink.

Hope it helps

Martin
