Portable Salinity/SG/Temperature/TDS/EC - 5-in-1 Digital Water/Seawater Quality Tester for Pools, Aquariums and Saltwater - C-100

A version with illuminated display - easy to use with dimmed ambient light.

Suitable for drinking water, swimming pool, aquarium, reverse osmosis system, spa or hydroponics.

Wide application range, quick measurement and easy operation, reliable to operate. The water quality tester has a sensitive electrode sensor to read accurate values. High sensitivity sensor provides more accurate measurement, more practical to use. Adopting high quality ABS material, corrosion resistant and durable to use. Easy and convenient to use, very suitable for science experiments in children's schools.

Most important features:

  • Measurement of total dissolved solids (ppm), conductivity (µS), salinity (%), specific gravity (IU) and temperature (°C)
  • EC (Electrical Conductivity)
  • Water contamination (chemical concentration measurement) TDS (Total Dissolves Solids)
  • salinity (salt)
  • Specific Gravity S.G. (Specific Gravity)
  • Temperature measurement in °C or °F
  • Measurement memory - hold function
  • Automatic change of measuring ranges
  • Large, easy-to-read LCD display with backlight
  • Battery saving - auto-off function (turns off the meter after 5 minutes of inactivity)
  • Automatic Liquid Temperature Compensation (ATC)
  • Brand new product (calibrated - HANNA HI 7031L 1413 µS/cm calibration solution)
  • Manually calibrated to three points: 1413µS/cm; 12.88mS/cm; 111.8µS/cm)
  • Simple operation

The exception to the use of the TDS meter is the water softener, this is due to the specificity of the tester's operation. Salt tablets are used in softeners, the meter does not distinguish between ions, but only counts them and sums them up. So the fouling measurement after the softener will be higher than before.

At the outlet of the softener, other methods of measuring water hardness are used, e.g. drip/strip water hardness testers.

Application:

The application of the TDS&EC meter includes:
determination of the amount of substances dissolved in water
water temperature measurement
assessment of osmotic membrane efficiency
marine and freshwater aquariums
food and chemical industry
laboratory research, pharmacy
waterworks, wastewater testing
camping, traveling
hydroponic crops
swimming pools and spas
gastronomy
agriculture
wherever water quality and pollution assessment is needed
sources of fresh water from streams, rivers, wells, rainwater reservoirs

Design (see gallery image):

  1. Battery compartment 3*1.5V LR44
  2. LCD display
  3. Measured value hold and °C/°F change button (when pressed for 4 seconds)
  4. Power button
  5. Changing the measurement mode and calibration (after holding for 4 seconds)
  6. Measuring electrode
  7. Protective cap

Taking a measurement:
Remove the protective cap. Turn on the meter with the "ON / OFF" button
Immerse the meter in the tested liquid (do not exceed the immersion line - the height of the protective cap).
Stir gently and wait until the reading stabilizes (no change for 5 seconds).
Read the value from the display or press the HOLD button and read the result away from the measured liquid.
After the measurement, rinse the electrodes with water and wipe with a cloth.
Turn off the meter with the "ON / OFF" button.
Put on the protective cap.

4 display modes
Pressing the MODE key allows you to choose between 4 display modes:

EC - µs/cm & °C
TDS - ppm & °C
Salt - %& °C
S.G.- i.e. & °C

ATC (Automatic Temperature Compensation) function - temperature measurement and compensation of the meter reading in the range of 0-50°C. This gives us a more accurate result.

TDS/EC/Salinity/S.G. meter meets EU directives and is marked with the CE mark. In addition, the meter is made of materials that meet the strict requirements of the EU ROHS directive.

Attention:
Do not immerse the meter in the solution above the immersion line to avoid damaging the circuits.
Temperature: The meter cannot be used to measure high temperature water.
Flow Rate: The meter cannot be used to measure water while it is flowing.
The protective cap can be used as a handy measurement container.

TDS/EC/Salinity/S.G. meter is an easy-to-use tool for quickly and accurately indicating the number of dissolved solids in liquids. Dissolved solids are mostly inorganic salts such as sodium, calcium, magnesium and potassium cations along with chlorides, bicarbonates, carbonates, phosphates, sulfates and nitrate anions.

The higher the measurement value (hard water), the worse the absorption of water by the body's cells and the greater the likelihood of its negative impact on human health.

TDS meters measure the EC (electrical conductivity) of liquids. Dissolved salts and minerals conduct electricity, the more minerals in the water sample, the higher the conductivity. The meter then converts the EC reading to TDS using the appropriate conversion factor.

A high TDS level may indicate a high amount of organic material in the water and less oxygen-holding capacity of the water. This means that a water change is required even if nitrate levels are low.

High concentrations of TDS can reduce water clarity, contribute to reduced photosynthesis, combine with toxic compounds and heavy metals, and lead to an increase in water temperature.
