Raspberry Pi CSI 5MP Camera Module
The Raspberry Pi High Definition (HD) camera board connects to any Raspberry Pi or computing module to create HD photos and videos.
Connecting the camera module to RPi
The 15cm flat cable attached to the module connects directly to the Pi Camera's Serial Interface (CSI) port. Once connected, you can access the camera board via Multimedia Abstraction Layer (MMAL) or Video for Linux API (V4L). There are also libraries such as Picamera Python and many more that can be found on the Internet.
Application
The Raspberry Pi Camera Module is ideal for HD video recording and photo capture. You can also try the slow-motion and time-lapse functions. Other uses include botany, wildlife watching, and home security.
